[Scummvm-devel] BS1 credits sequence

Hi!

I'm currently preparing a new Broken Sword 1 cutscene pack with support for
different languages to release it together with ScummVM 0.7.0.

Now the engine renders the credits at runtime, instead of playing an mpeg2
file, to make it possible to have different credits, depending on the
language (for example the list of voice actors differs, etc.)

However.. the original BS1 credits had a section near the end, telling that
"this product uses smacker technology, blahblah".
see here: www.lavosspawn.de/tmp/bs1smack.png

This has obviously changed with our current implementation, and this section
of the credits is currently simply left blank.

Now I was thinking... we could just as well put a ScummVM logo there with
some lines of text saying... well, no idea, how great scummvm is and that
this is a GPL implementation, something like that.

As this has never been done before, I was wondering if we want to change the
original game's behaviour like this at all or if this is out of the
question.

If we do want to change the credits, there's the question remaining, which
logo we want to add there.
I'd like to use the ScummVM logo from jeanm's new design, however he didn't
win the contest.. (yet?).
So I'd at least have to ask for his permission (does someone have his email
address?).

Anyway, as the logo would be part of the cutscene pack, we'd have to make a
decision now, before the release. And the logo can hardly be changed later
on, as we can't release a new ~35 MB cutscene pack just for a different logo
in the credits. ...and importing even more static data in the scummvm.exe
doesn't really make sense, either.

So... what do you think?
