Hmmm.. I really wonder, is that the best way to go? Do we really want
to keep updating a list of ever growing fanmade games with tons of
variants, differing versions, translations, etc. -- at some point the
list of games would probably outgrow the total size of the AGI code
base!
I understand that it's nice to be able to automatically assign a
proper title to those AGI games... but then, we'll never be able to
have all of them in the DB anyway.
So, IMO, at the very least it should be possible to auto-detect and
play unknown AGI games.
In addition, we could revive an old idea: Add code (for the AGI
engine only, at least for now), that looks for a special file, let's
say "fanmade.ini" which contains "hints" for ScummVM -- a game title,
the language, the version possibly other useful info. Then, creators
of fan games can start shipping their games with these INI files
added in.
