[Scummvm-devel] Introduction e-mail

Hi,

It's about time that I write up and proper introduction e-mail. Since about june 
last year I've (slowly) been working on re-writing the website. Turning the old 
ad-hoc code into something more managable. Well, now both Max and Eugene have 
decided that it would be could if I'd also take the roll as webmaster.

I've been playing around with websites for least 10 years now and with PHP for 
at least 5-6 years. And nowadays I actually code PHP for a living, so this isn't 
something new for me.

The plan with the website re-write so far has been to separate logic, data and 
presentation. This should make it easier to maintain since you won't have to 
hack the PHP-code to add new downloads or similiar. The new code is also OOP, 
since that's a modern and flashy way to do things. ;-)

Most of the site should look exactly the same, though you might notice some 
minor differences. The biggest difference would be the screenshots gallery, 
where I'm using slimbox2 (a lightbox clone) to display the screenshots. And 
unlike the current website, you can view the screenshots even if you don't have 
javascript.

The plan is to roll out the updated code today/tomorrow, but for now you can 
already view it on a stage set up for testing 
(http://fredrik_w.users.sourceforge.net/).
