[Scummvm-devel] Adding Uplink Engine to ScummVM

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Uplink OpenGL-based? And not really
adventure, more like a simulation... I don't think it's a good fit for
ScummVM in any way imagineable, much moreso than frotz. But maybe it's just
me.

Just my 0.02 €.

Hey Guys,

I think I asked DrMCoy this a while back, but even he suggested that I check
the devel list first. I was thinking of implemented Uplink: Hacker Elite on
the ScummVM framework. The original program source was made available to
people who purchased the bonus disc, and as such, implementation would
probably be pretty straightforward (compared to REing).

This is a point and click adventure, but not in the same sense as LucasArts
or Sierra games. You can read more at
http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/if you're interested. If there's
any interest, I'll get in touch with
Introversion first just to make sure it's ok for me to use the source they
provided for this purpose.

I figure after the recent Frotz conversations, I'd ask here first before
investing any time in the implementation. I'd personally like to do it, as I
think this effort would help make the game more available, and hopefully
bolster some additional income for the developers (they're a small company).

Let me know what you guys think :)

Alex
