OK, tell you what, we'll do it this way: ScummVM is not a democracy nor communism, so normally we don't vote on anything, but rather the people who actually *do* something and work get to decide what they do etc., although of course they should coordinate with others etc. I am not willing to let myself be dictated on how I work, but I am willing to stop doing what I do if others see it as having a negative impact.

So, for once, I'd like to conduct a vote. Poll is open till Saturday. Only ScummVM devs are allowed to vote, although of course everybody can voice his/her opinion. You vote by replying with an email to this thread. (I don't have the nerve to organize an anonymous voting scheme that ensures only devs can vote; if somebody neutral wants to organize that, go ahead.)

Pick one:

 (1) We delay the release until "all open regressions" are resolved.

     (Where "all open regressions means" all bug repots of priority >= 7;
      everybody is asked to add other items to the list of regressions)

    In this case, Kirben will take over as release manager and organize it all.

 (2) We proceed as planned and make a 1.1.0 release

    (of course with the usual caveat: If some major new regressions pops up, we will
    reevaluate this).

    In this case, I'll proceed as release manager.

I honestly don't mind either way. I absolutely can understand Kirben's concerns, it's just that our priorities differ. I really have no clue what others feel about this subject. Since everybody's reputation is at stake (in either case: either for regressions, or for delayed releases), I think it's fair to ask

In addition, I would like to make it explicit that I ask for everybody's open and true opinion; I am not one to carry a grudge, so don't worry about voting "against" me. Despite popular believe, I don't mind differing opinions, I just mind people who don't put their money where their mouth is :-), and I am all in for a hot discussion, with shouting and flames, and afterwards we can still be good friends, I hope :-).

Cheers,
Max
