Oh!  I thought I had discovered that copyRectToOverlay was *not*
followed by updateScreen, so in the Android port I always update the
screen immediately after copyRectToOverlay.
I am glad to be wrong about this and I will happily remove the
unnecessary screen updates from my code :)
