The GMM should never be enabled in HE games, since numerous glitches can 
be caused, which have a negative effects, due to parts of screen often 
not been restored after loading saved game.

That occurs in the English and German versions of Simon the Sorcerer 1 
(CD), where subtitles should never be enabled. Since the majority of the 
subtitles are missing, and can even trigger bugs in some scenes.

Adding GUI options for game specific settings has been mentioned in the 
past, and sounds like the best way to go.
