Eugene,

I wanted to follow up my email below regarding a partnership between ScummVM
and OpenCandy. I understand you are focused on your project and providing a
good experience to your end users. In addition to OpenCandy's non-obtrusive
model I have mentioned in my previous email below, I'd like to share with
you how some other OpenSource projects (such as WinSCP, Cheat Engine, etc)
have used OpenCandy revenues to support their project or the OpenSource
community in general:

1) We have seen developers directly give there earnings to charity or other
projects of developers in need
2) Donated earnings directly to sponsoring individual developers at Packt
Pub which we are currently doing (we're exploring other venues such as
Google Summer of Code, etc. in the near future)
3) Hiring other developers for their project
4) Reinvesting the earnings into promoting your application
5) Many more "donation" avenues in which we are certainly very flexible
6) Or keep it for work on your own project!

Here is a great example of an OpenSource project benefiting from an
OpenCandy partnership:

We find that people know there is "no free lunch" to put it plainly. The way
we place an add during the installer process is very user-experience focused
and comes from a recommendation of an advertiser you would actually
recommend. This is why Bessemer Venture Partners, Google Ventures, and
O'Reilly AlphaTech has put their confidence (and money) in our model.

You have quite a bit of traffic and are in a position to do a lot of good
with the revenues generated through a partnership with OpenCandy. This will
be my last ditch attempt to see if there is something we could work out
between us. I really thank you for your time and feedback through this
interaction. Most of all, thanks for the great app! It's been good to play
Leisure Suit Larry again.

Warm regards,
JC
