[Scummvm-devel] Wiki Software update

Hi team,

Now that the 1.4.0 release is out I am planning to update our wiki to mediawiki 1.17.0 (we are currently using version 1.15.5). This will enable us to again use a supported version that receives security fixes, but also bug fixes and additional features. I already tested that all our extensions and skins are working properly with this version. I also made sure our wiki server meets the minimum requirement in term of PHP and MySQL versions.

So my current plan (if I can solve some issues with the FTP server) is to do the update on the morning of Sunday November 27, starting around 10am GMT. Since this is a major update (e.g. which requires to update the database content) this will take more time than the last updates I made. I will actually first do a full backup of the software and database, which from previous experience should take about half an hour. During that time the wiki will still be available but will not be editable. Then I will proceed to the update itself. I will try to minimize the downtime, but the wiki will probably be offline for at least 5 minutes (if no major issue occurs it shouldn't be much more than that).

If you have any questions or issues with this plan please let me know. I can for example move the update to the following Sunday if needed.
I will send a reminder a few days before to confirm the update if I proceed with this plan. As always I will also be on IRC during the update.
