Hi Mike,

>Here's the proposal I had sent placed on Google Summer of Code last night.
I'm curious as to how the developers would want me to adjust my suggested
project.
>Any feedback is greatly appreciated, as of right now I'm not certain on the
specific changes wanted for the GUI.
>Basically, I was thinking of making the launcher's widgets match the look
of more recent GUIs (Drop shadows, color depth, etc.) based on current
platforms.
>Platforms being Windows 8, the latest iteration of Mac, Android, and IOS.

Thanks for taking the time to write to the list.

As for your proposal specifically your best working within the Google
Melange system and reviewing the comments and questions there (as I notice
you have started to do).

That said, the mailing list along with IRC are ideal places to ask specific
questions, queries about the design, checks on understanding. All that sort
of thing.

My comments from your proposal still stands in so much as you may wish to
provide a lot more information on what you're actually proposing.
Vague terms like 'modern gui' or just making it look 'native' on various
platforms are not really what we would be looking for the in the proposal.

Considering and reviewing where ScummVM's codebase is at the moment and how
you would improve things and understanding that it is a massively
multiplatform application with the need to maintain a sensible highly
portable GUI framework in the codebase should give you a few things to
consider when working on fleshing things out.

I would suggest you keep the actual detailed proposal comments to Google
Melange and address general questions to this list, IRC or the suggested
mentors. This helps us keep all the detail about the proposal in one place
when it comes to reviewing.

Kind Regards,

John Willis
