<div dir="ltr">Hi all,<div><br></div><div>I think it's a great idea, and it will give ResidualVM the same chance to benefit from Google that ScummVM has enjoyed for some years. Plus, from the sounds of it, there would be extra slots allowed, so it's not even as if they'd be stealing slots for work on ScummVM. Kudos to Strangerke for all his work putting together this years GSOC submission. </div>

Sadly, ResidualVM was rejected for their first participation. After a discussion with Carol from Google, it appears that Google suggests that we become a virtual umbrella for the duration of the GSoC and put ResidualVM under it. Concretely, this means that ScummVM will receive extra student slots earmarked for students working on ResidualVM.</div>
<div> </div><div>For ScummVM, it won't change many things, except a bit more administrative work for org admins. For ResidualVM, it's a chance to get students this summer and benefit from their work. Most of the mentors (including ScummVM's Core Team) of ScummVM and ResidualVM discussed the situation and we all think it's a very nice opportunity for all of us.</div>
<div> </div><div>If you want to raise some negative point we could have missed, please tell us as soon as possible. Time is short, and we would like to announce and advertise about this next weekend.</div><div> </div><div>
Thanks in advance for your feedback</div><div> </div><div>Best regards,</div><div>Arnaud</div></div>
