Summary: CD Audio Tracks in Sam and Max

Initial Comment:
The CD audio tracks for Sam and Max do not play. If the CD is in the
drive, the audio tracks from the CD (or compressed trackfiles)
should play, but they don't. This apparently only occurs on the Sam
and Max CD (not on compilations or the floppy version). I've
verified this through DOS, and if the CD is in the drive, it plays the
audio tracks from the CD. If the CD is removed, it defaults to the
MIDI, which is the same output ScummVM produces.

Well... I think, that the tracks could be only played from the
starter of the game on the CD or in a normal CD-Player....

Perhaps someone should close this... ;-)

The way I remember it, the game didn't use any of the CD
tracks, during some obsession of mine I listened to one song
then it on the CD tracks, and it was different. I remember an
exe file that ran the game, iMuse setup, and a menu option
to play the tracks on that. It just seems wrong to me, I don't
remember the CD drive motor changing frequency to load the
CD audio, like it does in Monkey Island 1, either.

Well, the CD audio track I spoke about in the original posting was the
playback of the main theme song during the opening credits. I verified
this myself, and it definitely uses the first audio track from the CD
during the credit roll. As you've mentioned, the Bumpus song is also not
played, and there are only 5 tracks total. I'm guessing the other 3 play as
well, but I can't verify this. I only verified the opening title track.

As far as I know, only the Bumpus Song is used by the
original exe. The other tracks are unused by the game, so
there are no information for synchronising with the game in
the recources, I think.
However the Bumpus track should be played by Scummvm, as I
already posted in the other request.
