[Scummvm-devel] Switch to SVN?

Hi folks,
this is (at this point) hypothetical question, but it may soon become
quite real... For now, I'd just like to hear how people think about a
potential switch to Subversion, instead of CVS. If you don't know what
Subversion is, look at <http://subversion.tigris.org/>. SF.net is going
to support SVN in the not-so-distant future. Once they do, I'd like to
know whether we want to switch.
Some information:
* Subversion is open source
* SVN is available for all Unix (including Linux, OS X, BSD) systems,
Windows
-> see <http://subversion.tigris.org/project_packages.html>
* Usage is very similar to CVS, so it shouldn't be difficult to learn
the new system
* Big advantage: File and directory renames and moving is possible.
It has many more advantages, but those concern us directly...
* We can import the old CVS repository, i.e. we'll keep (most) of the
file histories
Personally, I am all for it. Does anybody have serious objections (as I
stated on IRC, I don't want to hear things like "uh, I don't like the
color of Subversion, and anyway, Arch is much more l33t" ;-) ? I'd like
to hear them...
Cheers,
Max
