[Scummvm-devel] BASS bugs

Hi folks,

so we are down to 145 open bug reports. Sadly, not really because of
my recent call for help (but many thanks to anybody who fixed/fixes
bugs regardless of this!!!). Hence, I'll now try something new: Game
specific requests for help :).

So today, I am looking at the open bug reports of BASS. By now, it's
one of our older (and quite mature) engines. Still, there are a few
open tickets for it, and it would be *really* nice to get rid of some
of them. Luckily, several of them don't look that hard, and might
even be fixable by somebody who is not (yet) that familiar with that
particular engine.

#1548779 BASS: Control panel inconsistency for FX/Music button texts
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1548779>
   Looks as if somebody knowing the engine only will have to tweak a
few lines. Might be a good task for somebody not knowing the engine,
too, if you are willing to dive a bit into the code.

#1507835 BASS: Control panel text differences from the original
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1507835>
Wrong font being used? Hmm... any insights are appreciated (post
there, as usual).

#1510038 BASS: Possible glitch when examining inventory items
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1510038>
Timeout problem with the inventory item description texts.

#1507756 BASS: Officer Blunt wrong animation (?)
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1507756>
For starters, somebody should try and reproduce this, then state the
results on the tracker item. Next, try to come up with a fix ;).

#1358854 BASS: Game hangs towards the end
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1358854>
I have no clue about this one. Can you reproduce it? State so there!
An idea what causes it? Please comment, or better, fix it!

#1314495 BASS: "game frozen" / "actor stuck" / "Invalid Mode(16)"
   <https://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?1314495>
This one looks nasty. I don't have high hopes for anybody tackling
it, but for completeness sake I list it here, too. Maybe somebody
would like to show me how wrong I was for believing it to be "out of
reach" :). Yeah, go on and prove that I know nothing :).

Maybe by focusing this way I can rouse some help. But somehow I fear
that my hope is in vain. Perhaps I should post on the forums or our
website and hope for some fresh blood? Any thoughts on this?

Cheers,
Max
