Hehe. Too slow!

Check out patch 1729975 on the project, and you'll see that I've
already had a crack at it.

I don't have a DS, so it's been done blind, but I hope it should show
a noticable speedup.

Let me know if you have any problems with it, and I'll stare at it
some more...
