Hi Team,
This question was raised many times, and now it is time to talk about
it a bit.
Sierra Creative Interpreter support. Yes, I know about FreeSCI. But
several months ago a developer came out of the blue with almost
complete SCI1.0 engine. It is a completely independent work, mainly
based on hard RE work.
The engine is quite small comparable to FreeSCI, and its status could
be shown as following (quote from the original author):
> SQ1 is completable for ~2/3 (you can't get jetpack, so later
> you can't enter Sarien's ship) KQ5CD is completable for about 1st
> episode (seems that you always being killed by desert raiders)

So, are there any interested developers? The engine is in a such good
state, so it could enter our SVN just in a several days of work. Then
we will have to address several issues:
- Lack of music
- Problems with Animate() call
Then playtesting and we may look into extending the engine to support
more games/engine versions.
As of FreeSCI GSoC task, it needs a free hands to help FreeSCI folks to
introduce it to their tree, and jvprat seems to be too busy for that.
A pity, I know.
Eugene
