A minor comment:

"Add support for sound format (SID format?) used by Commodore 64
versions of Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken to SCUMM engine.
Unfortunately there is no demo versions are available, so you need to
own one of the games."

The tunes in Zak & MM are indeed SID-music (though that doesn't say
much, since SID is just the name of the soundchip, the great 6581).

Since playing back SID-music correctly isn't exactly trivial (it needs
complete CPU-emulation of the 6510-processor and of the 6581-chip + its
filters), I'd suggest using libsidplay2 instead of re-inventing the
wheel.
