[Scummvm-devel] SF.net tracker vs. trac

Hi folks,

since there was some confusion, let me try to clarify: I didn't
propose to move away completely from SourceForge. Rather, the
suggestion is to consider moving to a different issue tracking system.
I.e. instead of tracking bugs reports, feature requests and patches
with the SF.net tracker, use another tool.

Possibilities for that include trac (which is available on SF.net,
too, and SF.net staff would help us migrate our existing data), or
bugzilla (for which we'd have to write scripts to convert the SF.net
data to the format used by bugzilla), or a variety of other tools.

All of these have in common that they are more powerful than the
SF:net tracker. E.g. they allow declaring dependencies between bugs,
allow specifying more fields with more data (say, a filed where the
user can specify the ScummVM version a bug occurred in), etc. *And* in
my opinion they are less annoying than the SF.net tracker's have
become recently (at least for me ;).

Cheers,
Max
