great work, thanks! Some questions:

Did you try to make a .gitignore file based on the svn:ignore data? See for example <http://john.albin.net/git/convert-subversion-to-git> .

Did you do all this manually (making it a bit difficult to redo, I assume?), or using some self-written scripts, or maybe using a tool like svn2git <https://github.com/nirvdrum/> ?
