Hi Max,
I just read on scummvm-devel about you quitting the team. I'm really
sorry to hear that because, as others have said, you were the perfect
person to be leading a project like this. It's been great to work with
you for the past few years and I think you've done an amazing job.
It's obviously very hard to run a project like this with many developers
spread all over the world in different time zones and with difficult
skill levels / native languages and so on. To me, it's amazing that
these projects work at all, and ScummVM works very well. We may argue
from time to time but I think we should all be proud at what we've
managed to produce, and we should remember how few open source projects
of this size are as successful as ScummVM for such a long time.
For me, although I had always wanted to contribute to an open source
project, I never thought I would be invited into ScummVM as I was, and
so thank you for making a big difference in my life. I know I am guilty
of breaking the rules on your charter, and I've never felt offended of
you pointing out the flaws in my code. It's mainly available time to
work on ScummVM which is the barrier for me. In an ideal world, I'd
like to have been much more involved.
I hope that you resume ScummVM work once you've had some time away from it.
Thanks for all your efforts,
- Neil (agentq)
