The filenames are fine by me. The only thing I am wondering about is the .zip format. Its major bonus is its wide spread adoption -- OS X and Windows support it out of the box, and I bet most Linux distros will, too
But then it is also typically produces bigger files than .tar.bz2 or even .tar.gz ... not to mention .7z and others. Often 30% or more (but I have no idea how much the difference is for the demos). 

Ah well.

Anyway now, we might want to put in some PHP script which replaces the bare file list on http://demos.scummvm.org/ (which is still being uploaded to, by the way) with something nicer ;). Be it something existing, or something custom. 
The most fanciest interface would of course augment every entry with some meta data (file size, full game name, infos on the demo, ...), and would also make use of our theme. But now I am just dreaming... :)
