I just realized that with my last message I accidentally replied to
Eugene directly rather than to the mailing list.

The message was not very relevant anyway since I wrote it under the
assumption that the original sources to both DW 1 and DW 2 were available.
I was hoping I could get access to debug symbols or a list of functions
using DirectX interfaces from DW 2 to match them to the uses in DW 3.
However, with only the original DW 1 sources available, this limits the

I don't have a blog (yet) and have not started the implementation
because I want to have an optimal (within my capabilities) static
analysis of at least the purposes of all function before getting started.
Therefore, as a next step, I am looking into exporting the type
information from the ScummVM source files to better understand the
workings of the unidentified and modified functions.

My current estimation is that it will take a long time until there is
something to show because the menu and interaction system has become
considerably more complex in DW 3. After this first big hurdle is
overcome, there can hopefully be more graphical progress.

If at some point, I don't have time to work on this project anymore, I
will definitely make the IDA database available.
