Hi all,

one week has passed: *branch-2-6 is now entirely frozen*!

However, as always, there are some exceptions.

 1. *Fixing the remaining bug marked as blocker (#13566).*
Commits/contributions that are made in order to fix this bug are
still /very/ welcome and backporting those commits to branch-2-6 is
/allowed/ even after this full-freeze announcement.
 2. *Ports backend code is /not/ frozen.
*Commits/contributions that touch port-specific backend code are
allowed to be backported into branch-2-6.
 3. *Documentation
*Commits/contributions that modify our documentation related files
(e.g. NEWS, the docportal...) are allowed to be backported into
branch-2-6. Please use this opportunity to add any noteworthy
entries to the NEWS file that still might be missing.
 4. *Translations
*Contributions towards the GUI translations are still allowed via
weblate.scummvm.org. The final translations.dat datafile will be
    created right before tagging.

According to our schedule, the next big milestone will be

*July 16 (Saturday): Final branch 2-6-0 created, **release tagged**,
porters start submitting builds*

Tagging will take place at around 20:00 UTC. I'll announce the exact
tagging date a couple of hours before we'll create the tag which will
also start a period where /absolutely no changes will be allowed.
/(maybe I should call this period /permafrost.../)

As always, I encourage porters to ramp up their testing facilities 😉

Meanwhile, the /master/ branch continues to operate as usual without any
freeze.

All the best
Lothar
