Category: GUI
Group: Day of the tentacle
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Priority: 5
Submitted By: Reuben Thomas (rrt)

Summary: Toilet identified as Mad Ved Edison

Initial Comment:
ScummVM version 0.5.1 (I downloaded the RPM from SourceForge),
also CVS-2003-11-03 (I downloaded the stripped binary from
SourceForge)

Bug details: When I point at Bernard's Chron-O-John the GUI hint
says "Weird Ved Edison".

Language of game: English

Version of game: Floppy (with speech only in the introduction)

Platform: Linux/x86 (RedHat 9)

Reproducing: Unfortunately, this is a bit tedious.

1. Load the first saved game attached (06).
2. Perform the following actions:
    Switch to Hoagie.
    Go to the Chron-O-John.
Put the letter in the Chron-O-John.
    Switch to Bernard.
Go to room 2 and give the letter to the suicidal salesman.
    Pick up the flag gun.
Go out to the parking lot and use the flag gun on the man in the
ski mask (I know this doesn't achieve anything!)
Go back in to the Chron-O-John.
3. Load the second saved game attached (22)
4. Point at the toilet (not the Chron-O-John). The GUI hint says
"Weird Ved Edison".

I tried saving my position having completed the actions in 2, then
loading the second saved game, but unfortunately this doesn't show
the bug.

It doesn't look very important, but it might conceal a memory
corruption bug or something...
