Initial Comment:
I suspect the build process is somewhat broken for
non-i386 archs where nasm is installed.  At least, the
automatic .deb build for ia64 bombed out with this message:

  /usr/bin/ld: common/libcommon.a(hq2x_i386.o):
Relocations in generic ELF (EM: 3)
  common/libcommon.a: could not read symbols: File in
wrong format

It's fairly easy to work around, I'll just add a
Build-Conflict for nasm on all other architectures than
i386.  But I think it is really something the configure
script should be clever enough to handle properly on
its own - so if it's easy to fix it would've been nice
to have it included in 0.7.1.
