Initial Comment:
I'd like to point you to the fine italian fan translation a guy did some time ago, so you can add some support when the time will come  . 
The site of the project is http://gkpatches.vogons.zetafleet.com/. 
For non italian speaking people: 
the direct link for the translation patches are http://gkpatches.vogons.zetafleet.com/download.php?file=istallagk.exe for the CD version (both DOS and Windows), and http://gkpatches.vogons.zetafleet.com/download.php?file=aggiornagkfloppy.exe for the floppy version. 
The CD version Is an installer who require the original english CD and performs a clean install of the game adding patch 1.03 and the translation. 
The Floppy version patches an already installed game.
