 I recently opened ScummVM on a new laptop running Windows 8.1, and
 discovered the games (Discworld 1 and 2) weren't working properly. I
 uninstalled the 1.1.1 version of ScummVM (which had previously worked fine
 on my Windows Vista laptop), and downloaded v1.8.1. I deleted and reloaded
 my English language Discworld CD game, went through the add game process,
 but on attempting to start the game it simply closes ScummVM without the
 game starting. The problem does not occur with Discworld 2, which after
 the reinstall, runs fine.

 I am not an overly tech savvy user, so any help would be appreciated (in a
 dumbed-down format, please!)
