 Hmmm, after using the wheel on the boiler in the original Riven on Windows
 7 the last frame of the video is still clearly visible just as in ScummVM.

 On your screenshot in the original engine the last frame of the video is
 visible as well, but is dithered. What's interesting in your screenshot is
 that the total color count is 512. Probably 256 colors for the main view,
 and 256 colors for the last frame of the video.

 I wonder what causes the game to original engine to enable dithering.
