Comment:

 issue still exists after combat ends on such a tile. See attached savegame
 number 17.

 Take 1 step towards the monster (through the door), kill it and then the
 whole party gets the "blood splash" damage effect instead of the lava
 damage, which does the 100 damage regardless of fire resistances
