 The tester on the forum does indicate that the test version *works* on
 PPC. The remaining issue he mentions is with the icon, so I have reopened
 bug #11261 and will continue the discussion about the icon there.

 So I think this ticket can now be closed.
 And thank you again for the detailed report. It helped a lot!
