 This is addressed by current commit:
 https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/commit/6dfcb3e558a3a9610b135b0152a76508c4d24e7f

 The repeated firing behavior affects only Esc and Return keyboard keys.

 Please test if possible and ASAP.

 I will mark this ticket closed by the end of the upcoming weekend.
