 I just bought the German retail version in a store :-) (This one here:
 https://www.mobygames.com/game/gemini-rue/cover-art/gameCoverId,230515/)

 The DVD contains (among others) a ZIP file with the English and a ZIP file
 with the German version of the game
 (http://medienarchiv.digitalimagecorp.de/Optisch/Spiele%20-%20PC/GeminiRue
 .cue-iso9660-joliet.html - the cab files are, contrary to their file
 extension, really just ZIP files).

 The German version is contained in data1.cab:

 I used the same directory with the contents of the extracted archive as
 the data directory for both ScummVM and AGS.
