 Yes, that's correct. The current nightly builds are not compatible with
 Windows XP anymore. I'll prepare a special build for the next release, so
 Windows XP won't be totally unsupported anymore.

 The current nightly builds and snapshots are indeed not compatible with
 Windows XP anymore - you _really_ should consider updating your OS though.
 Until the next release is out, please use this nightly instead:

 https://scummvm.serra.me/scummvm-snapshot-2.3.0git-winxp-win32.exe

 This is built with the same toolchain as the upcoming release and is build
 from the master branch as well.

 Please note that Windows XP support is likely to be discontinued in the
 future.
