 Tested with DosBox and it's definitely a bug in ScummVM.

 The original interpreter starts with ego walking to the right, out of a
 pool of water with a text window opening up on reaching the shore:
 "As we begin our quest we find you, Phil, sitting in a small pool of
 water."
