 This might be specific to the Wii Port of ScummVM.

 I am unable to reproduce the crash on the Windows version after hanging
 around, chasing Zuben, retiring him, leaving and revisiting the Howie
 Lee's chinatown area.

 Also tried reloading a game and re-doing the above.
