 Reproduced on 2.6.0 (Windows x64) and the US Steam version of the game. I
 don't know I would describe it as a "really loud crackling", but there is
 definitely a "thump" sound, almost like someone tapping on a microphone.
 It's not particularly loud and had I not been looking for it, I probably
 would have ignored it.
