 I'm not sure how this game got into this state but it's likely to do with
 the screen size that was used.

 I tried starting again around this point and it worked fine in both
 original resolution and using the "high resolution" setting (which only
 ups it to 1024x768).

 I'd like 4k Crusader to work because I think it's cool, so I'll see if I
 can make a workaround.   For now though it's not a release blocker for the
 next release - I think it can only be triggered with custom settings by
 editing the ini file.
