New description:

 Reproduction steps:

 1. Install Escape from Monkey Island on ScummVM for macOS
 2. Run the game
 3. Click the green window circle or press option-return to go full screen

 Expected behavior: it's full screen with black bars on the side (since my
 laptop screen doesn't match the aspect ratio of the game)

 Actual behavior: The aspect ratio stretches to fill my screen.

 macOS 12.2.1 (21D62)

 I tried overriding the stretch mode to be "Fit to window" but the stretch
