 I've made a potential PR for a fix here:
 https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/4942

 It should be reviewed by someone familiar with the engine than me though,
 or at least another pair of eyes.

 By the way, this action (that causes the crash) is not critical to proceed
 with the game. It's an extra interaction that results basically to a
 comment from Pink Panther.
