 I've just tested with latest HEAD from master (2.8git) and there's been an
 improvement.

 I can see text in the speech bubbles during the intro. I have not compared
 it yet with the intro when launching the game from Steam again, but I
 believe that the text would be the same.

 The issue with the guy's robes being drawn as "transparent" persists.
