 @sev-: Have replicated this on latest git master i.e.
 e053002d9cce6425822081b193553c8fe734b18c on Linux x86_64.

 Have attached screenshot of the Red Unimail envelope which is located in
 the locked cabinet in the Mess Hall on the North West i.e. top left of the
 start level map of the ship. Have also attached savegame at the central
 Vortician. To replicate, load this and then move down, left across map and
 up the left side vertical corridor to the mess hall. The cabinet is in the
 top right corner of the mess hall.

 As the submitter indicates, you can open the cabinet, but pressing return
 doesn't pick up the envelope. This does work with pushing barrels and
 picking up other items though.
