#14269: [SCUMM] Ultimate Talkie for SoMI does not need warning for no CD music
----------------------------+---------------------------------------
Reporter: antoniou79 | Owner: (none)
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: | Keywords: Ultimate Talkie, CD music
Game: Monkey Island 1 |
----------------------------+---------------------------------------
This is on ScummVM 2.8git current build from master HEAD, on Windows 10
x64.
The SE Talkie v1.02 is detected properly from ScummVM but, since this
version comes from the CD version that is embedded in the Special Edition
release, and if the user does not set an Extra Path pointing to the CD or
SE extracted music from the Special Edition, upon launch it gets the
popup:
"This game has audio tracks on its CD. These tracks need to be ripped
from the CD using an appropriate CD audio extracting tool in order to
listen to the game's music. See the documentation (CD audio) for details".
However, during the "building" of the SE Talkie version the installer
patches the resource files and adds in the MIDI music of the floppy
release.
This means that the game will have music playing regardless of extracted
CD audio tracks. The warning is not applicable on this situation.
My suggestion would be to add an exception for this edition of the game,
to avoid confusion for the end user.
