Comment (by LukasThyWalls):

So, if it happens in other 4.1.x devices i think the best it's to drop
4.1.x and rise the minimal requirements. I would like to still use it in
this tablet, or at least a much updated version, but that's life.

I only can say that with 2.7.0.2 doesn't work in my tablet (like i said
Arnova AN10DG3 with Android 4.1.1/Uberdroid 1.3.5, so API16), but ScummVM
2.2.0 works (although, alonside 2.1.1 it shows the window in a weird
resolution, with 2.1.0 it appears normal, as i showed in the screenshots),
as i just tested every main release between 2.7.0.2 and 2.1.0 downloading
the APKs from the archive directly.

It seems the issue (or issues) making it crash above 2.2.1 (the first one
with the OP crash it seems) where fixed in 2.7.0.2, but in all this time
there where other issues or incompatibilities introduced that were
inadvertently appearing, with some being quite likely unfixable at this
 point.
Could be those fixes introduced in 2.7.0.2 could be backported to other
versions between 2.2.1 and 2.6.1, and maybe they make it work those
versions, but i don't think it is worth the effort to do it, only if
 anyone specifically needs it.
