 I don't know how the original worked, but I'm not sure this is a bug. The
 stone (I tested version 2.7.0 and 2.8.0git) only starts disappearing if
 you botch the jump, landing farther than the stone or on the border. Using
 your save, if you do a couple steps south you can complete the jump
 normally.
 Also the bug does not occcur if you enable the "jump to mouse" option
 (which is a bit of a cheat, admittedly)
