 Since I've found it today by using the search here:

 Report https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/6329 is also mentioning the exact
 same Spectacles bugs, which as noted above is an original game bug (and
 not a ScummVM GOB engine specific bug).

 I'll mark that one as duplicate.
