 Ok, could you please go to game options->keymaps and reset?
 Are you using any customization software for the mouse,
 speedrunning/streaming etc?

 Also, did you try replicating the bug using the upstream AGS interpreter
 (I mean the executable you can download
 [https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/ags/ here]). You need to copy
 acwin.exe and SDL.dll to the game folder and run that instead of the
 original game exe
