 "dual mode" is audio + subtitles at the same time, exactly what you are
 doing.

 Sierra games had 3 options: SPEECH (audio only), TEXT (subtitles only) and
 DUAL (audio + subtitles), a few times DUAL was missing, but we managed to
 patch that into games, for example King's Quest 6.
