#15866: Sound/MIDI Problem in Gabriel Knight 1

Hi guys, I'm reporting an audio problem I encountered while playing
Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers (DOS/Win CD Version). I tested the game
on two different computers to make sure it wasn't my problem and in fact
it occurs in both cases. I'll try to describe the problem as best I can:
basically, using the game with the voices disabled (so only text) and
turning up the volume, in some parts of the game (like the voodoo museum
or Mosely's office) during text dialogues, with every mouse click you can
hear low and random midi sounds that in some cases are very annoying
because they overlap with the music. They are "light" sounds that can be
heard almost from a distance, and they resemble the same MIDI drum sounds
during the game, but they appear randomly and often correspond exactly to
the mouse click. For example, if you talk to Dr. John in the museum, for
every sentence you choose while in interrogation mode these sounds appear.
Even during the final sequences of the game they are always present and if
you play using headphones it is really uncomfortable as a situation. I use
all the default settings, but even changing the options related to audio
or MIDI, I was unable to solve the problem. I think these sounds are also
present when the voices are active, but evidently I did not notice them.
Now, I do not know if this defect also occurs when playing natively on a
DOS PC, but I wanted to point it out. I wanted to clarify that this
problem does not occur in the Floppy version and only concerns the CD
version, both in the DOS variant and in the Windows one.

 Thanks
