 I actually used the internal cheat options in the game to get to that
 scene fast. Since I use the German version, a save would be less useful
 for you.

 Just use (hand) the left chandelier in the entrance hall right after
 starting the game four times in a row, then you get all stuff you need to
 repair the machine. Gammie automatically walks there then. Just repair the
 machine, then you can connect Gammie and see how the bug happens.
