Comment (by thegreatprophetzarquon):
" If we want to get technical, I don't think our QuickTime implementation
handles scaling yet..."
This is all still just point-scaling (just repeating some lines of pixels
in there), so I had thought that game was doing it for the Masterpiece
Edition (mediainfo tells me the video is encoded as 129x89 set to display
at 133x92): "proper" scaling would be undesirably blurry.
" Hi, our objective is to always match the original executable; so this
ticket doesn't fall under "bugs", but under "feature requests"."
Thank you for the switch. That is completely reasonable, I just posted it
because it's different from the Mac version and would have some nice
benefits if implemented.
The other reason I posted this (and I am aware this is beyond the scope of
this project) is that I hate to see Cyan still sell the game with the
first book's video completely broken. Way back when they had first updated
their version to use ScummVM in collaboration with folks here, I had asked
if it was possible to swap in Mac Masterpiece Edition's file and it was
this behavior that was cited as to why they wouldn't (even though it turns
out this was the original game's behavior the whole time). So however this
turns out I think that decision might be worth revisiting is any of the
ScummVM devs are still a part of that.
